Pairs & Rotors information
Some of you are probably familiar with the MSX games Pairs and Rotors, published by ASCII Corporation in 1983 and 1984. They were developed by Hibiki Godai (program/music) and Satoshi Uesaka (graphics), with Mariko Uemura working on graphics for Rotors. Godai and Uesaka would later work together to make Thexder for Game Arts.
But did you know that ASCII was planning to release Pairs and Rotors as a single game in 1985 for the PC-6001, PC-8801, and FM-7 computers, calling it Pairs & Rotors? Sadly, it was seemingly cancelled, but a special "Login Version" of Pairs for the FM-7 was released in the 07-1985 issue of LOGiN magazine as a type-in. It came with a construction function to design 70 different cards (48x32 px, 8 colors).

That's not all! In 1991, Pairs and Rotors were turned into a Sanrio game, Minna no Taabou no Nakayoshi Daisakusen (みんなのたあ坊のなかよし大作戦), for the Famicom. It has the familiar Pairs and Rotors gameplay, but you play as a boy and a dog instead. The familiar Rotors melody can be heard in this game.
