Nausicca Tecnopolis Soft- Can you help?

Does anyone know what you are supposed to do on Nausicca? I've tried flying around until I run out of fuel. I've tried shooting the warrior skulls. I've tried landing the gun ship. Nothing works! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
