Is it clear that they are not the same as Super Boy I, II and III? Do you have any other info? Is there any hope that you'll ever get screenshots or even dumps? Were they actually released or only advertised and then canceled?by Manuel - MSX Library
The colors depend on whether you use an MSX with a V9938 (or newer) video chip or a TMS9918 variation. As this game is for MSX1, I suggest using a TMS99xx for the screenshots. The scanlines are a matter of taste. I prefer to have them included, because they show more accurately what you see on a real monitor.by Manuel - MSX Software Database

I fixed some things, please check.by Manuel - MSX Software Database
OK, just let us know if you find something out... Can you read and translate the Hangul on the Super Penguin scan? Also, it would be helpful if you could put it in Hangul here, so I can use it as the original title. Thanks for your great support!by Manuel - MSX Library
Ah, how did you find out about the MSX-Centrum deal details?? And what is Saehan Sangsa exactly? Do you think I should add an entry for Super Penguin?by Manuel - MSX Library
Ah, n_n found it, it's just Sinbad by Casio! :) I'll add it as an extra release, just like the others. See Then, another one I found in a much later issue of this magazine: Super Penguin. Screenshot attached. Can you tell more? The article says: - not really a MegaROM, only 32kB - game is a platform game like Super Boy series - should work on MSX1... These are all a bit strby Manuel - MSX Library
Oh, the only mysterious entry from it is "Alla II", which is described as: - MSX1 game - blocky graphics - flickering sprites - stuttery scrolling - reminds of Hudsonsoft (But I can't find a game which looks like it) - very simple platform game - player has sword and can jump - first screen shows enemies which make your life hard - once in a while a wizard suddenly pops uby Manuel - MSX Library
I found the source of those Zemina games: they were reviewed in the Dutch MSX magazine "MSX Computer Magazine" issue 47. At that time, they were imported by Dutch "MSX Centrum" from Korea. I suppose they didn't really know the full/real titles and they also didn't seem to know that some were already released in Japan earlier.by Manuel - MSX Library
OK, thanks, updated that as well. And yes, a title is kind of mandatory :) Maybe those ads are of games which already are in the database, even?by Manuel - MSX Library
Done... Any more stuff? :) Keep it coming, very interesting.by Manuel - MSX Library
Thanks. Strange Loop is also a Japanese game. What is Salamander II supposed to be??? It doesn't exist on MSX, as far as I know. If you have any info about that, please let me know. Anyway, I have no idea where those "duplicate" Zemina entries came from. If they are indeed the same as the Japanese originals, they should be makred as such, I completely agree. Maybe we shby Manuel - MSX Library
I have processed all your information, feel free to send more info and corrections! :) Thanks a lot!!!!!by Manuel - MSX Library
Thanks for all this info. I added all information you gave. Can you please provide those screenshots? (If possible, please make screenshots with an MSX emulator (like openMSX or blueMSX), after dumping the ROM, this gives much better image quality than a photograph of a monitor/TV.) Please check all information again, I may have made some mistakes. Also, if you have more information (game genrby Manuel - MSX Library
It wasn't made for MSX, but for SVI-318/328, see the comments in the YouTube video.by Manuel - MSX Library
Yeah, I also had this problem, trying to search for both ROM and MegaROM is impossible now...by Manuel - MSX Software Database
Could be Hydlide...by Manuel - MSX Software
Never mind, it is already implemented :) (But not the negative search terms...)by Manuel - MSX Software Database
Sandy, any idea for this? Also, it would be nice to be able to search on sound chip ("which games use MSX-MUSIC?")by Manuel - MSX Software Database
Laydock 2? That's 2+, though.by Manuel - MSX Software
I updated that info a bit, and added screenshots :) Looks nicer now.by Manuel - MSX Software
Your option is called: I want to specify negative search terms. So, negation... Easy to do with SQL, but it's not in the form indeed :)by Manuel - MSX Software Database
Many of these games were a kind of combination of Panasonic and ASCII. I have the original Turmoil from Sirius here. The European box shows both ASCII and Panasonic. Weird eh? Still, both are Japanese companies. The cartridge itself just mentions ASCII and Sirius, though. Same story for stuff like Tawara, High Way Star, Squish'em, MSX-21, etc.by Manuel - MSX Software Database
There are some rare 64k RAM cartridges that could be helpful. Easier is to buy a cheap MSX2 :)by Manuel - MSX Hardware
Due to several other bugs (now fixed) things went wrong with WHo Dares Wins II, but they have been fixed now. So, no need to do something for that game, Wataru.by Manuel - MSX Software Database
