Official spelling is Moon light Saga with lower case "light". MLS is the official abbreviation.
The release year was intended to be 1996 but was delayed to 1997 according to the Easter egg text file.
It was going to be volume 1/2 of the Moon light Saga series followed by Chapter Serehna which was never released.
Both the joystick and keyboard must be accessible during the game because one of the magics requires the joystick and another requires the keyboard to continue the game.
